Splantzia. Where Chania still looks like itself.

A restored 17th-century stone house in Splantzia. Two studios. Direct booking.

Splantzia is the most intact medieval quarter in Chania's old town. The Venetian harbour is less than three minutes on foot. Splantzia Square, the Ottoman fountain, the Saturday farmers market, and the neighbourhood's best tavernes are all around the corner. Studio Petra and Studio Lithos are quiet. The neighbourhood around them is not — and that is exactly the point.

Splantzia

Splantzia is the most intact medieval quarter in Chania — and one of the most visited. The neighbourhood's main square, shaded by a plane tree that has been here since the Ottoman period, still functions as a place where people live rather than a place for tourists to walk through. The fountain at its centre dates to the same era. The Saturday morning market fills the surrounding streets. The Venetian harbour is right around the corner; the crowds stop well before you get here.

Studio Petra and Studio Lithos are on a quiet lane off all the noise and foot traffic. You hear the neighbourhood, not the nightlife.

A medieval quarter, two studios, and one direct line to us.
